Dara to surrender if found guilty
NEW DELHI, March 29 (PTI) — The main accused in the killing of Australian missionary Graham Steins and his two sons in Orissa, Ravindra Pal Singh alias Dara Singh, has offered to surrender before authorities if he is found guilty by Justice D P Wadhwa Commission. In an interview to a private TV programme "Aaj Ki Baat" tonight, Dara Singh said he was not present in Manoharpur on the night of the incident on January 22. He said he had no link with the BJP, RSS, Bajrang Dal or any other organisation.

Bajrang Dal activist
AHMEDABAD, March 29 (PTI) — A Bajrang Dal activist and a rickshaw loader were killed as violence marred the Id-ul-Zuha and the Mahavir Jayanti celebrations here. Haribhai Devabhai Solanki, a Bajrang Dal activist, was done to death by unidentified persons in the Juhapura area of the city last night, as he was campaigning against the sacrifice of animals, the police said.

Copter crashlands
SRINAGAR, March 29 (PTI) — Four foreign skiers and an Indian pilot were injured when a state-owned helicopter crashlanded in Sonamarg forest in north-east Kashmir today, an official spokesman said. The pilot, Group Capt J S Kahlon, and the skiers were admitted to the Army Base Hospital.. The helicopter, on a helisking trip to Sonamarg, 84 km from here, suffered heavy damage.

Rebels surrender
COLOMBO, March 29 (PTI) — Seven persons, including four Sri Lankan airforce personnel, were killed while 189 Tamil rebels surrendered in renewed fighting between government forces and LTTE guerrillas in the north, the army said here today. Four airforce personnel travelling in a tractor at Mundumurippu in Northern Vanni were killed yesterday when the rebels blew up their vehicle with a claymore mine.

TMC leader dead
CHENNAI, March 29 (UNI) — Mr P. Andi Ambalam, senior Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) leader and member of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, died at his native village of Palappanaickenpatti, in Dindigul district following a massive heart attack early today. He was 72 and survived by his wife and seven children.

6 killed in mishaps
JAIPUR, March 29 (PTI) — Six persons, including two police head constables, were killed in three road accidents in Rajasthan yesterday, the police said here today. Three persons died in Alwar, two in Kota and one in Kotputali. Three persons sitting on a camel cart died on the spot when their cart was hit by a truck on the outskirts of Alwar. Two constables died when their jeep collided head-on with a truck. A jeep driver was killed in another accident.

Sudan fighting
CAIRO, March 29 (AFP) — Sudanese rebels killed 83 government troops, including nine officers, during fighting in southern Sudan, a rebel statement said today. Another 200 Sudanese government troops were wounded, including six officers, during the fightings on Friday and Saturday in Ulu in southern Blue Nile state, the Sudanese People's Liberation Army statement said.
