Parents kill drunkard son
PUNE, July 20 (PTI) — A 16-year-old boy was allegedly done to death by his parents and brother and the body was buried in a nearby field in Tambewadi village in the Khed taluka of the district, the rural police said today. The police said Bhagwan Mahadu Tambe was killed by his parents and brother on July 5 because he used to get drunk and create scenes in the house. They buried the body in the nearby field. The police, which was tipped off about their misdeed, exhumed the body on Sunday last. Mahadu has been arrested while his wife and son were absconding, the police added.

25 dead in Pak
ISLAMABAD, July 20 (AP) — At least 25 persons drowned when a sudden wave overturned a boat on the Tavi in eastern Pakistan, press reports said today. Another 75 persons swam to safety. The boat was carrying mostly farmers from their fields on one side of the river to Surkhpur village on the other in the Tanda area of Punjab province last night, the English-language newspaper, The News, said.

30 feared dead
BEIJING, July 20 (DPA) — More than 30 persons were feared dead after a bus with 35 passengers careened off a highway and plunged into a river in southwestern China's Sichuan province, the state media reported today. The driver of the bus from Chengdu lost control of the vehicle on a windy road in Wenchuan county and plunged more than 10 metres into the Minjiang river on Sunday, the Xinhua news agency said, quoting a survivor.
