Theres no
stopping Rukja Baby
By Dharam Pal
LOOKING at Bobby Cash, one can
easily imagine him exchanging blows with shifty
characters. However, he is equally capable of crooning
love songs under a damsels window.
As a matter of fact, both facets of
Bobbys personality are true. Bobbys got a
passion for body-building and it is well known that he
can sing. Bobby happens to be the only pop singer the
country and western music. Delhi based Bobby has a
faithful fan following the restaurant where he
performs on Thursdays remains jam-packed.
Jawahar Wattal, who has a
sharp eye for spotting talent, happened to watch
Bobbys performance. Jawahar, well known for
encouraging and nurturing fresh talent, offered Bobby a
break. That resulted in a winning combination. This team
work resulted in the album Rukja Baby. Bobby is
the pop-icon of the younger generation and is the most
happening Indian solo artist today. He has a unique
personality, coupled with unusual charisma.
Bobbys album
comprises nine romantic pop songs, which reflect a whole
range of emotions and moods. Meri Jaane Jaan is a
haunting love ballad, which allows Bobby to explore
various styles of music.
In Dhadke Dhadke he
has peppered reggae with his unmistakeable Bhangra pop
style. Those who are used to listening to Bobbys
western and country numbers will be pleasantly surprised
to hear him tackle reggae with equal finesse.
So it doesnt come as
a surprise that the title track, Rukja Baby has a
foot-stomping beat. Jawahar, who has given many hits,
promises his best in Rukja Baby. Bobby and he have
created a number which will keep discos busy for months.
Apart from the influence
of Jawahar, Bobby acknowledges that his mother Jean Das,
has been a great source of inspiration to him. Not only
did she stand by Bobby in his lean times and believed in
his talent, but she has also written lyrics for his
songs.
Well, looks like
theres going to be no stopping Rukja Baby!
