Smug smiles from Namrata Shirodkar!
Smart girl Namrata

By Madhur Mittal

MAKE no mistake about it: Namrata Shirodkar may be a newcomer to movies but she’s smart cookie, all the same. Like, when she had signed Hero Hindustani with Arshad Warsi, many people in the industry had called it "the bad choice of an inexperienced film aspirant". And today, when the promos of the film are all over the satellite channels, the same people are going into raptures over her "incredibly talented credentials".

Actually, it is an undeniable fact that Namrata is by far the most beautiful and promising new heroine to make her debut on celluloid in years. Her screen presence is simply stunning! Without doubt, Hero Hindustani is going to prove to be the most ideal launching pad for this popular model and former "Miss India" into the world of desi showbiz. And this is something she must have realised when she agreed to do the film.

Like I said, behind that fresh, innocent face is a razor-sharp brain.

About-face Archana

Never take Archana Puransingh at face value... because she’s perpetually prone to doing a volte-face! And she admits it readily.

"You know, when I look back, I find that I’ve been constantly contradicting myself. So don’t believe me when I say believe me! Okay, you want me to elucidate? See, somehow, I have generally gone and done what I said won’t. Like, I said that I’d never act in a sitcom, but I have just done that. I remember stating that I wasn’t in the least interested in directing teleserials and today, I’m directing not one but two of them —Jaane Bhi Do Paaro and Nehle Pe Dehla! And, of course, I said I wouldn’t like to act in my own serials; well, now I’m in both. See what I mean?"

Sure, a lady who actually means yes when she says no!

Devgun on a diet?

Ajay Devgun’s producers are worried sick over the actor’s weight loss. Sure, he was down with the viral sometime back, but "normally", he should’ve been just fine and back to his 72 kg plus on the scale by now, right? Well, he isn’t — not by a long mark (pun unintended).

So a visibly gaunt Ajay (it was so obvious in many scenes of Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha is hardly cheering up his filmmakers. Is Devgun dieting? He says negative... but he will definitely need to do something positive to add on the muscle fat through rich foodstuffs and gym workouts — soon.

After all, a lean-looking macho, action hero just won’t do. Especially, considering the competition between hunks.

Super Saif

Granted that most stars are mobbed if spotted at a public place, but Saif Ali Khan takes the cake in this respect, surely. There is something about him that draws crowds (of girls) like bees to a honeyhive.

For instance, the other evening, he decided to take wife Amrita and daughter Sara to a Chinese drink in Bandra. But, no sooner had he stepped out of his gleaming, black Honda to hand over the keys to the parking attendant, than a horde of girls suddenly descended on him from virtually out of nowhere! Our man tried on his best smile and polite PR tactics to see (shoo?) them away, but to no avail, because this particular group was evidently bent upon touching him, pulling at his clothes and trying to smother him with smooches!

Eventually, after about five long minutes of shove and countershove, Saif having had his brand new hairstyle all mussed up, decided to beat a hasty retreat. He literally leapt back into the car, slammed the door shut and stepped on the accelerator.

I wonder if Dingy (Amrita) tied an apron on him and made him cook dinner at home later that night? What else, Chinese, of course!Back
