A new potential scam has emerged with Defence Minister A K Antony ordering a CBI probe into allegations of bribery into a Rs 10,000-crore deal for supply of aircraft engines to state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) by London-based Rolls Royce company.

Probe indicts AG security branch
Shimla, March 2
The magisterial probe into the blaze at the 109-year-old Gorton Castle heritage building, housing the state Accountant General’s office, has indicted the AG’s security branch headed by a class-III officer Rakhpal Singh, the defunct internal hydrant and fire-alarm systems. The top two floors of the castle were destroyed in a fire during the wee hours of January 28.

Haryana unearths diversion of medical intoxicants to Bangladesh

The Haryana Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Department has busted a racket involving illicit diversion and transportation of medical intoxicants across the Indian border. The department says 3.5 lakh bottles of codeine (an opiate) bought from a depot of a multinational pharmaceutical company may have been smuggled out of India.
