SC raps police over AAP dharna
Issues notice to Centre, Delhi
New Delhi, January 24
The Supreme Court today pulled up Delhi Police for their failure to prevent the recent dharna by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his Cabinet colleagues and party supporters in the heart of the city. The court sought the response of the Centre and the Delhi Government to a PIL seeking CM and Law Minister Somnath Bharti’s prosecution.

Amid demands for the removal of Somnath Bharti for the midnight “raid”, AAP today jumped to his defence, saying he had sought action against the alleged drug and prostitution racket on the basis of “some evidence”.

Employees’ demands: Haryana forms 2 panels
Chandigarh, January 24
The Haryana Government has set up two committees to look into the demands of employees’ unions. This was announced was Chief Secretary SC Choudhary who met members of the employees’ coordination panel today. “While one committee would focus on implementation of labour laws and regularisation of contractual employees, the other would look into power department issues,” he said.
