Revenue department fails to meet target

Despite all the efforts put in by the state government to revive the real estate business in Punjab, the collections in the Revenue Department have been affected due to the prolonged slump in the market. The lackadaisical approach adopted by tehsildars and naib tehsildars has added to the miseries of the department, as Rs 18 crore are still to be recovered by the department. The recoveries have been pending for the past four to five years.
PSPCL told to vacate land on Ferozepur Road by Dec 31

Thieves decamp with garments worth Rs 15 lakh

In another incident of theft, thieves struck at a showroom of branded garments and decamped with woollen garments worth Rs 15 lakh in Old Court Chowk on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The incident happened in the Casabalanca showroom on the main road near the Old Court Chowk.
