Maruti Suzuki to recall 1,492 units of cars
Maruti Suzuki India Limited will be recalling as many as 1,492 units of different categories of cars to repair the possible problem of steering column. The cars to be recalled will also include those owned by the tricity residents as well. “We cannot disclose the exact number of cars to be recalled from the Chandigarh region, but there will be a few from the area. The purpose of such a communication is to raise awareness among our clients so that they can check their vehicles for any possible problem and report to us,” said Puneet Dhawan, spokesperson for Maruti.

Tribune tennis meet begins from Dec 2

The Chandigarh Lawn tennis Association (CLTA) in association with The Tribune Group of Newspapers is all set to host the Tribune Cup Chandigarh Open Tennis Championship from December 2 to 6, here. The championship will feature about 90 top-seeded men and women players from the country. The tournament will be organised at the centre courts of CLTA Tennis Stadium, Sector 10, Chandigarh. Along with the running prize trophy for both men’s and women’s events, the winners will be awarded prize money of Rs 2 lakh.

AG Haryana, AG J&K enter final

The team of AG Haryana defeated host AG, Punjab, 8-7 (in tie-breaker), to reach the final of North Zone Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA&AD) Football Tournament, being held at Football Stadium, Sector 17. In the tie breaker, the AG Haryana side got better of their rivals. In the 8th penalty of tie-breaker, Punjab’s Vinay Kanwar failed to convert his penalty kick while Harvinder of AG Haryana managed to post his team’s win.

National badminton meet begins

The qualifying rounds of 38th Junior National Badminton Championship, ended at badminton Hall of Panjab University, here today. The main draws will be played from tomorrow. In qualifying rounds, 443 players participated while in the main draws the number will be 573. At least 9 junior international players will mark their presence in the main draws of this championship.
