Public window to remain open on gazetted holidays: The public window at Police Headquarters, Sector 9,
Chandigarh, will remain open on all the gazetted holidays. General public can submit their complaints/ grievances at public window on all gazetted holidays from 9am to 5pm.
GHG Khalsa clinch title:
GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sudhar, won the Inter-College Cycling Championship at the velodrome track of Punjab Agricultural University,
Ludhiana. The team defeated Government College, Ludhiana and secured six gold medals, one silver medal and three bronze medals.
GGS College win title: GGS College for Women, Sector 26, blanked Panjab University Campus to win the final of the Inter-College Ball Badminton Championship for women today. GGS college team defeated PG campus 2-0. The team of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 46, was declared third.
Health Dept destroys 75 kg of khoya:
The UT Health Department today raided four sweet shops in city and destroyed 75 kg of khoya as it was found exposed to dust and flies. Samples were also collected from four shops from Sector 32 and
Daria.

Minister releases house journal: Haryana Power Minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav on Tuesday released the new monthly house journal of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran
Nigam, titled the “Haryana Bijli Vitran Samachar”. The bilingual in Hindi and English pictorial magazine, has three sections, News and Events, Tech Tonic and Discom Family. The magazine would have informative and educative matter pertaining, particularly to the power sector.
Medical officer held on bribe charge: A medical officer posted at a community health centre in Jind district was on Tuesday arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a person. Four constables suspended: Inspector General of Police Anil Rao has suspended four constables, Jasbir, Amit, Manoj and Rustam, for allegedly accepting bribe from drivers near Gaddi Khedi village in the district on Monday night. The accused were caught red-handed by a police team on patrolling. A spokesman for the department said any policeman involved in any misdeed would not be spared.

2 miscreants flee with ornaments: Two miscreants allegedly decamped with gold ornaments in Nehru Colony, here, today. Devendra Singh Negi resides in Nehru Colony and works at Welham School. Devendra’s wife works as Librarian at DAV (PG) College. Both were away at work and Devendra’s mother Kirti Devi was alone at home. The accused took ornaments from Kirti Devi on the pretext of polishing them and fled.
