Drug peddlers eyeing industrial workers

Serving opium to farm labourers has become a thing of the past. Drug peddlers are now targeting industrial workers across the city.
Commissioner of Police Paramjit Singh Gill and DCP Harsh Bansal made this startling revelation following the arrest of a drug peddler from whom 21 kg of opium was recovered.

IT officials swoop down on SEL Group

The Income Tax Department today conducted a raid at the SEL Group. The raids were conducted on 14 premises of the group across the country simultaneously.
The group deals in yarn and its premises are located on Doraha Road, Samrala Road,
Nawashahar, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

PAU to focus on resource conservation

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will focus on the conservation of natural resources during the two-day Kisan Mela to be held on September 13 and 14.

LIT officials fail to file property returns

Eyebrows are being raised over failure of 26 serving and retired class I and II officials of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) to file their annual property returns with the public authority concerned as prescribed in their service rules.
Training centre to be part of Integrated Textile Park: Minister

The training centre and working women's hostel will also be a part of the Integrated Textile Park being set up at Sanhewal and Textile Minister K. Sambasive Rao today announced this and gave a subsidy of Rs 20 crore for the same.

Two more test positive for dengue

A driver of a private mini bus was found dead in a bus this morning. The incident came to light at around 6 am when some commuters found him dead.
