Joint action committee formed

In a meeting at DAV College here, the Punjab and Chandigarh
College Teachers’ Union (PCCTU) and the Chandigarh Government College
Teachers’ Association (CGCTA) joined hands to form a joint action
committee to pursue their long-pending demands.
2 youths get 7-year jail for acid attack
Chandigarh, July 20
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Preeti Sahni today sentenced two youths to seven years’ rigorous imprisonment in an acid attack case. The court sentenced Amandeep Singh and Sham Singh to undergo seven years in jail and also imposed a fine of Rs 7 lakh each on them. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 each on the two convicts.
Movie buffs to make a beeline for Panchkula
