Chandigarh, June 3
Punjab Dy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal flanked by Industry Minister Anil Joshi after unveiling the state’s new industrial policy at Chandigarh on Monday. After several false starts since 2009, the Punjab Government on Monday came out with an industrial policy that goes with Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal’s philosophy of “kamayo te khayo” (earn and live).

Will try my best to clean up cricket, promises Dalmiya
New Delhi, June 3
Jagmohan Dalmiya, who was authorised to look after the day-to-day affairs of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at its emergency meeting in Chennai yesterday, said he would spare no effort to clean up the mess that Indian cricket was mired in. “We will try to overcome the situation that we are in,” Dalmiya said.

Infighting has broken out in the already divided separatist camp as pro-independence JKLF chief Yasin Malik today lashed out at the moderate Hurriyat faction and its leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq accusing them of being “hypocrites” protecting India’s interests and also claiming to struggle against it.

Ashwani returns to practice, argues in SC
New Delhi, June 3
Ashwani Kumar Within a month after resigning as Union Law Minister, Ashwani Kumar today returned to legal practice arguing before a Supreme Court Bench, which incidentally included Justice Madan B Lokur who had been part of the Bench that had heard the PILs on the coal block allocation scam.

CBI set to question Bansal this week
New Delhi, June 3
Pawan Kumar Bansal After probing various aspects of bribery scam in the Railways, the CBI is all set to question former Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal this week. The questioning of Bansal will revolve around his role in the appointment of suspended Railway Board Member (Staff) Mahesh Kumar involving his nephew Vijay Singla who was allegedly caught accepting a bribe of Rs 90 lakh, official sources said.

All-party meeting to tackle Maoist violence soon
New Delhi, June 3
The Centre today decided to convene an all-party meeting soon to draw up a strategy to deal with Maoist violence in the wake of the recent attack on Congress leaders in Chhattisgarh that left 30 persons dead. Briefing mediapersons after the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath said there was no discussion on the ambitious Food Security Bill but the government was keeping all options open on the crucial legislation.

Spot-fixing: Duo remanded in judicial custody till June 14

Mumbai, June 3

A local court today reserved till tomorrow its order on the bail applications filed by CSK team principal Gurunath Meiyappan and actor Vindoo Dara Singh arrested in connection with IPL spot-fixing scandal. Meiyappan and Vindoo filed bail pleas soon after the Metropolitan Magistrate remanded them in judicial custody till June 14.
