Civil Surgeon Dr Daya Nand said there was no question of stopping distribution of tablets, as they were following the guidelines received from their higher authorities. The medical complications being experienced by children were proving roadblocks in the success of an ambitious programme of combating anaemia, which had been found rampant among adolescents in Haryana. Dr Rakesh Gupta, Mission Director of the NRHM, has repeatedly maintained that these are minor complications and there is nothing to worry about. Meanwhile the sample of three different batches IFA taken by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from Ratia in Fatehabad last week have been found complying with the standards, said drug controller GL Singal.
