Women leader of Imran Khan's PTI gunned down
Karachi, May 19 (ANI):
Unidentified gunmen shot dead a local female politician from the cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan's party outside her home here. Zahra Shahid Hussain was Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s senior vice-president of women's wing in the Sindh province. Two attackers on a motorcycle shot her in the affluent Defence Housing Authority area before fleeing the spot. Hussain, who was seriously wounded, died on her way to the hospital.



Four Maoist sympathisers held 
Gumla, May 19 (ANI):
Police has arrested four cadres of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), who were acting as messengers of the Maoists in Gumla district of Jharkhand. Inspector of Police of Gumla district Amitesh Hussain said the sympathisers used to pass on the information of the police movement to their commander Sanjay Tiger. The police had been conducting several search operations in various districts to catch the Maoists who had convinced the local people to help them with money.



UP: 42 policemen booked in terror suspect's murder case
Barabanki, May 19 (ANI):
As many as 42 Uttar Pradesh policemen, including some top officers, were today booked for the alleged murder of Khalid Mujahid, an accused of the serial blasts in the state in 2007. The state government has ordered a CBI probe. Khalid Mujahid, prime accused of the blasts, which rocked courts in the state, died while being escorted to a prison after a court hearing on Saturday. He fainted on his way back to the prison at Lucknow after the hearing in the court at Faizabad. He is believed to have died en route when the police van ferrying him was passing through Barabanki. Mujahid was accused in the blasts that took place in the courts complex at Faizabad and Gorakhpur.



Hundreds run for women's safety in capital
New Delhi, May 19 (ANI):
Hundreds persons participated in a marathon to raise awareness about women safety here today. Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and entrepreneur-politician Naveen Jindal flagged off the marathon. Sheila Dikshit said the marathon aimed at taking adequate steps to improve the status of women. Social activist Kiran Bedi was also addressed the participants. She said with the implementation of police cadet scheme, the crime rate in the city was likely to reduce.
