BJP blames Congress for non passage of Food Security Bill
New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held the ruling Congress party responsible for the non-passage of the Food Security Bill in the budget session of the parliament. Earlier, on May 16, the Congress party’s Vice President Rahul Gandhi had blamed the BJP for stalling the parliament resulting in the non passage and enactment of the Food Security Bill. On this score, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that the central government ought to have followed the food security model of Chhattisgarh.



IPL spot-fixing: Delhi Police to conduct more raids 
Mathura/ New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): The Delhi Police is likely to conduct more raids on Saturday in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scandal. Teams of Delhi Police's special cell have been sent to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Kolkata to conduct searches and track the money trail in the IPL spot-fixing case. Meanwhile, Pacer S Sreesanth and the two other players of the Rajasthan Royals IPL team Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila arrested by Delhi Police have reportedly confessed to spot-fixing.



1 security personnel killed during gun battle with Maoists in Chhattisgarh 
Raipur, May 18 (ANI): At least one personnel of the Special Task Force (STF) was killed, while another was critically injured during a gun battle with Maoists in. The incident took place when the security forces were on their way to Maoist hotbed Sukma for area domination when the rebels showered bullets at them triggering a gun battle.



CBI official investigating coal scam arrested for taking bribe
New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the chief investigator in the coal blocks allotment case for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.7 lakh to "settle" a land dispute for a businessman. A second CBI officer and two others were arrested as well. The arrests were carried out by the CBI's internal intelligence unit. The arrested persons are Superintendent of Police Vivek Dutt and Inspector Rajesh.
