Alia Bhatt prefers acting advice from Karan Johar than her family!
New Delhi, May 4 (ANI): Daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, Alia Bhatt who made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year' says she prefers to consult her mentor Karan regarding her career over her family. "Karan is like my mentor. He has given birth to me when it comes to getting into this industry. So every decision that I make, I do consult him. He obviously wants me to take my own decisions. He wants me to make mistakes and learn. He is a very important part of my life and career," Alia said. Though her father has a production company, Alia decided not to start her acting career with the Bhatt camp. Not only her debut film, but even her upcoming projects - 'Highway' and '2 States' - are not from Vishesh Films (Bhatt camp).



Pawan Bansal distances himself from nephew arrested over bribery charges 
Chandigarh, May 04 (ANI):
In an embarrassment to the UPA government, Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal's nephew Vijay Singla has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 90 lakh from a member of the Railways Board who allegedly wanted a better position. Singla, along with two others, figures in a case registered by the CBI against senior railway official Mahesh Kumar, who took charge as member of the Railway Board only on Thursday.



Prez felicitates India's cinematic best at 60th National Film Awards
New Delhi, May 04 (ANI):
President Pranab Mukherjee gave away awards to the country's cinematic best at the 60th National Film Awards across various categories in New Delhi. Mukherjee accompanied by Union Telecom minister Kapil Sibal, Information and Broadcasting minister Manish Tewari urged the industry that enters its centenary year to portray positive societal values. Renowned Kathak exponent Pandit Birju Maharaj was felicitated by the President for best choreography for Tamil film 'Vishwaroopam.' Meanwhile Bollywood's official bad man veteran actor Pran was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award though he could not attend the ceremony. A visibly elated Bollywood film maker Shoojit Sircar who delivered the rib tickling drama 'Vicky Donor' that shocked the Indian audiences with its bold theme expressed his delight upon winning the national award.



Maoists destroy an under construction bridge in Bihar
Jamui, May 4 (ANI):
A group of Maoists severely damaged an unfinished bridge and put the machinery in Jamui district of Bihar on fire, widening the connectivity problem for the locals. The bridge was being constructed for smooth communication between Auraiya and Mohgain villages via the Jhanjhar River. The Maoists locked all the 25 labourers working at the site and then put the machinery on fire. Construction workers said Maoists were earlier searching for the accounts officer at the site, but could not find him and destroyed the construction work in a major way. They burnt all the cranes and machinery along with a dipper truck at the construction site. The Maoists also threw number of posters at the site, on which warning slogans were written against the police and the paramilitary forces.
