Sarabjit Singh's condition deteriorates, family back to India
New Delhi, May 1 (ANI): The distressed family of Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh, who was brutally assaulted in a Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail last week, is expected to return home on Wednesday after his condition deteriorated. According to reports, the doctors have indicated that he is "clinically dead". Meanwhile Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal has said that the Indian government must take the initiative to get back Sarabjit Singh, since there is lack of proper treatment at Lahore.


Kin of 4-year-old rape victim perform her last rites
Ghansore, May 1 (ANI): Kin of the 4-year-old rape victim, who succumbed to her injuries, performed her last rites at her native place, Ghansore town of Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh. The victim died from a cardiac arrest in Nagpur, nearly two weeks after two men lured her away with chocolate, raped her and left her bleeding outside a farm. The family members sought death penalty for the arrested accused.


Preity Zinta promotes ‘Ishkq In Paris’ in Mumbai
Mumbai, May 1 (ANI): Bollywood actor turned film producer, Preity Zinta who is all set to return to the silver screen after a three-year long sabbatical recently promoted her upcoming Bollywood film, ‘Ishkq In Paris’ in entertainment capital, Mumbai. Talking about the film, Zinta said that she was proud of the project, irrespective of what treatment it would receive at the box office.


Musharraf banned from Pakistan elections for life
Chitral, May 01 (ANI): A Pakistani court has imposed a lifetime ban on former President Pervez Musharraf from contesting elections, derailing his efforts to regain influence by winning a seat in parliament. It was the first time a court in Pakistan had declared a citizen ineligible from contesting elections for life. The former army chief returned last month after nearly four years of self-imposed exile to contest a May 11 general election, but election officers disqualified him because of court cases pending against him.
