A rapist, who was arrested by the Pinjore police yesterday on charges of kidnapping and raping a minor girl of 14 years, was today produced in the Kalka court. The court sent the accused to judicial custody for 14 days, said the police sources.

Youth convicted of murder in P’kula

The court today convicted a domestic help, who was accused of killing a 65-year-old woman and injuring three others at Sector 12, Panchkula, for robbery. The accused was identified as Akhilesh. He was later arrested in August 2011.

Alok Kumar enters semis in ONGC Asian Billiards Championship

Chandigarh lad Alok Kumar, a former Asian champion, confirmed a medal for the country by entering into the semifinal match of the 12th ONGC Asian Billiards Championship 2013 being held at Tennis Club, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
After finishing as third seed in the round robin stage, Alok was placed in quarterfinals to play with his compatriot and sixth seed B Bhaskar.
