Kharar
Exam centre raided:
Punjab Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka on Friday raided an examination centre, Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Kharar, and expressed shock to see girl students sitting on the floor while writing their examination there. The minister directed the Punjab School Education Board chairperson to conduct an inquiry to fix accountability of officers who recommended the school as a centre.

Sangrur
Flower show held:
A flower show and seminar was held at Banasar Garden in Sangrur on Friday. Punjab Horticulture Director Dr Lajwinder Singh Brar told farmers that there was a dire need of diversification of crops. He encouraged them to adopt horticulture.

Bathinda
Foetus found:
A foetus was found in the sewage on Fauji Road in Kotkapura on Friday afternoon. The police said municipal workers found the foetus while cleaning the blocked sewage. Civil Surgeon Rakesh Arora said a five-member team had been constituted to investigate the matter.

Action plan demanded:
The north zone of the All-India Association of the Central Excise Gazetted Executive Officers has demanded that the Centre come out with an action plan for cadre restructuring. Association chief AK Sharma said the officers would go on a relay fast to press for their demands.
