With the city receiving 17.9 mm of rainfall, today was the coldest day of the month in the past five years. The Met Department recorded the maximum temperature at 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 14.2 degree Celsius.

Residents not removing stagnant water regularly at their households or offices are now liable to be punished for disobeying the orders of the District Administration. With Chandigarh being declared threatened with the recurrent breeding of dengue and malaria viruses, defaulters will now be punished under section 188, IPC (disobedience to an order promulgated by a public servant).
