With the city receiving 17.9 mm of rainfall, today was the coldest day of the month in the past five years. The Met Department recorded the maximum temperature at 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 14.2 degree Celsius.

The Chandigarh Administration has maintained that the Chandigarh Golf Club (CGC) cannot be compared with the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA), the Lake Club and Mountview while fixing the lease and rental value of land.

Residents not removing stagnant water regularly at their households or offices are now liable to be punished for disobeying the orders of the District Administration. With Chandigarh being declared threatened with the recurrent breeding of dengue and malaria viruses, defaulters will now be punished under section 188, IPC (disobedience to an order promulgated by a public servant).

Candidates protest against the Bhakra Beas Management Board in Panchkula on Saturday Exam cancelled ‘without notice’

As many as 200 students were at the receiving end as exam of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) of the irrigation department, which they were supposed to attend, was cancelled and no prior notice was given by the irrigation department, Sector 5, Panchkula.

In the view of rising assaults on policemen at checkpoints, Inspector General of Police RP Upadhyaya today advised them not to come in front of a speeding vehicle. 1 acquitted in murder case

The local court today acquitted a murder accused, Inderjit, in a case of murder. Inderjit was accused of murdering Subash in year 2011. Subash’s body was found at Sector 21 in Panchkula.

A 14-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a plastic rope at her residence in Badhmajra Colony.
