Class VIII girl student abducted, 3 booked

The Patti police, which has failed to trace the two sisters missing since January 29, was gripped in another row when a girl student of class VIII was abducted from Jawanda Kalan village, 15 km from here. Harpreet Singh, besides his father Harjit Singh and mother Veer Kaur, residents of Sarhali Kalan village, 22 km from here, have been booked under Sections 363, 366-A, 120-B of the IPC regarding the abduction of Amarjit Kaur (14), a student of class VIII. Sawinder Singh, girl's father, in his statement to the police, alleged that the accused had abducted his daughter, luring her to marry Harpreet Singh. The accused abducted the girl last night from her house, he told the police.
