Class VIII girl student abducted, 3 booked

The Patti police, which has failed to trace the two sisters missing since January 29, was gripped in another row when a girl student of class VIII was abducted from Jawanda Kalan village, 15 km from here.

Harpreet Singh, besides his father Harjit Singh and mother Veer Kaur, residents of Sarhali Kalan village, 22 km from here, have been booked under Sections 363, 366-A, 120-B of the IPC regarding the abduction of Amarjit Kaur (14), a student of class VIII.

Sawinder Singh, girl's father, in his statement to the police, alleged that the accused had abducted his daughter, luring her to marry Harpreet Singh. The accused abducted the girl last night from her house, he told the police.


EARLIER STORIES

Sawinder Singh alleged that Harpreet Singh had been harassing his daughter for some time.

In another incident, Kasel Singh (28), a resident of Patti township, 25 km from here, has been missing under mysterious circumstances since February 8. Inderjit Singh, boy's father, in his statement to the police, alleged that Kasel Singh had gone to get an LPG refill in the town, but had not returned home till date.

The Patti police has lodged a report in this regard.
