Six robbed of cash, jewellery

Hoshiarpur, February 11
Two unidentified motorcycle-borne youths robbed six persons, including three women, of cash, gold jewellery, mobile phones and wrist watches at gunpoint near Barial village last evening.

According to the police, robbers by brandishing a pistol snatched Rs 10,000 from Dinesh Mehta of Adampur and gold earrings from his wife Rekha Rani when the couple was going from Dhugga to Adampur. They snatched gold earrings from occupants of a car (PB-10-ODT-5880), Rs 8,000 from Goldy Mahey of Jalandhar, four gold bangles, gold chain, two gold earrings and gold ring from Bakhso of Abadpur, Jalandhar, and Rs 600 from Dharminder of Jalandhar. After snatching the cash and valuables, they fled on a motorcycle.

The Bulhowal police has registered a case under Sections 392, 506, 341 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act. — OC
