Bollywood producers seek film policy for state
Mussoorie, November 9 Ravi Bushan informed the media at a hotel in Mussoorie that it was really unfortunate that Uttrakhand did not have any film policy since the formation of the new state, which was hindering the arrival of film-makers from around the country to the state. “The lack of a single window system means that film-makers has to go through several levels of bureaucracy while shooting in the state, which hampers the progress of the film and results in delay, that is proving costly for the producers,” he said. Ravi Bushan opined that the state government should immediately constitute a film policy and a corporation where the producers can go and air their views and concerns so that more people are attracted towards the state, thus bringing in much-needed revenue and generating employment along with providing an opportunity to the creative talent here, said Ravi Bushan. Ravi Bushan further said that delay caused while waiting at toll barriers meant the film unit losing time and money, which was really unfortunate. He also said that the state government should set up a place which contains all film-making equipment so that the producers do not have to carry the same from Mumbai, which was a cumbersome exercise, forcing many producers to stay away from beautiful locations present in the state. He said that the state had immense possibilities in the field of film making, provided the government had it's policy in this regard in proper place. Director of "Ishkeria" Prerna Wadhawan also said that she enjoyed the shooting in Mussoorie but due to the lack of adequate government policy, she was now thinking twice before visiting the place. She said that the people of the town were supportive but the need was that the government should also support them by providing the needed subsidy for film-making. |
