New Delhi, October 25
Four people were killed and seven others injured in four cases of accidents reported from different parts of the capital in the last 24 hours.
In the first incident, a six-year-old girl, Gulfasa, died after being hit by an RTV in the Dabri area. The victim has gone to a nearby market with her mother for Eid shopping. The accident took place when she was returning home.

Around 2 pm today, an RTV hit Gulfasa in Chanakya place area of Dabri. She was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead, said a police official.

The RTV driver, Anil, was later booked under charges of rash and negligent driving after locals handed him over to the police.

In the second incident, an elderly woman was killed last night after she was apparently hit by an unknown vehicle while crossing a road in Moti Bagh, South Delhi.

According to the official, the victim is yet to be identified, but believed to be around 60-year old. "It is believed that the woman was crossing the road near Charak Palika Hospital when the accident took place around 9.30 pm," the official said.

A PCR van took the victim to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where she was declared brought dead, the official added.

The body has been preserved for postmortem, which will be conducted after the victim is identified.

In the third incident, a 50-year-old man was killed and two others were injured late yesterday night in a head-on collision between an auto and an Alto car in Shakarpur. The auto driver, who has been identified as Surender, died on the spot. He was taking a passenger, Jitender (47), to Laxmi Nagar when the incident took place. His body has been sent for postmortem, said the official.

After the accident, a PCR vehicle rushed Surender, Jitender and the driver of the car to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. While Surender was declared brought dead, the driver of the Alto car - a youth in his 20s - and Jitender are being treated. Jitender was later referred to Max Balaji Hospital in Patparganj.

The police said that prima facie it appears that the driver of the car was drunk, but it has not been confirmed yet.

In the fourth incident, one youth died while four others were injured when their Santro car rammed into a truck in Alipur, outer Delhi, late yesterday night.

According to the police, the car rammed into the truck when the truck driver lowered down the speed near a speed breaker on the highway. The car was over speeding and it rammed with the truck. Occupants of the car - Deepak, Banti, Praveen, Lippal and Ravi - were admitted to a nearby hospital where one of them was declared brought dead.
