Maruti workers go on rampage; 1 dead, 40 hurt

Manesar (Gurgaon), July 18
Irate workers, protesting against the suspension of an employee, went on rampage and set on fire a portion of the Maruti Suzuki India Limited plant at Manesar, leaving one dead and many injured.

N-plant: Gorakhpur farmers to get Rs 30 lakh per acre 
Fatehabad, July 18
Very few farmers turned up to receive their cheques on the first day today after the authorities announced award to compensate farmers whose land has been acquired for the upcoming nuclear power plant at Gorakhpur in Fatehabad.

Jayalalithaa drops Revenue Minister from Cabinet
Chennai, July 18
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today dropped Revenue Minister KA Sengottaiyan from her Council of Ministers. A Raj Bhawan communique said Sengottaiyan was dropped on a recommendation from the Chief Minister.

Bollywood’s first superstar is dead
Mumbai, July 18
Bollywood’s original superstar Rajesh Khanna, who charmed his way into the
hearts of millions of swooning women, died in Mumbai on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. The 69-year-old actor, who shot to superstardom with the 1969 hit ‘Aradhana’ opposite Sharmila Tagore, passed away at his Bandra home, two days after being discharged from Lilavati hospital. He had been ailing since April last year.
