In a 'quantum' leap in physics, scientists today claimed to have spotted a sub-atomic particle "consistent" with the Higgs boson or 'God particle', believed to be a crucial building block that led to the formation of the universe.

There was some relief for the inflation-hit middle class with the government extending the one per cent interest subsidy scheme on housing loans of up to Rs 15 lakh, where the cost of the house does not exceed Rs 25 lakh, for another year.

High courts can’t increase medical college seats: SC
New Delhi, July 4
The Supreme Court today ruled that high courts can’t increase the number of seats in medical colleges, clarifying that any student graduating after getting admission on the basis of such seats would not be allowed to practise medicine.

CM’s visit gives residents respite from power cuts
