With just a day left for the results of the Assembly elections in Punjab, Uttarkahand, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur and Goa to be declared, political parties in the fray were today bracing themselves for the verdict, which is being billed as a “semi-final” before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
We will win with a comfortable majority. We will create history by coming to power for the second time in a row.

In Punjab, fate of 1,078 candidates hangs in balance
Chandigarh, March 5
The fate of 1,078 Punjab candidates — 985 male and 93 female — sealed by 1,38,92,749 voters on January 30, would finally be decided tomorrow. The counting of votes will begin simultaneously in all 117 constituencies from 8 am onwards and the results are expected to be declared by noon, revealed Kusumjit Sidhu, Chief Electoral  Officer.

Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather today presented a "zero deficit" budget for 2012-13. Except proposing a hike on tobacco products and liquor, the Finance Minister announced various sops for the common man in the Rs 33,853-crore annual budget.
