Blacklisting of ISRO ex-chief stuns scientists

The UPA government today found itself at the centre of another blazing controversy with a stunned scientific community reacting with disbelief over its decision to damn and debar former ISRO chairman and space scientist G Madhavan Nair and three other scientists from re-employment in government institutions.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today called a meeting of stakeholders involved in the National Population Register (NPR) and Unique Identification Authority (UID) projects to prepare meeting ground between the squabbling factions ahead of the Cabinet meeting rescheduled for Friday.

India, Norway reach agreement; kids to be handed over to uncle

The prolonged agony of an Indian couple in Norway whose kids were taken away by the Norwegian Childcare Services on grounds of "emotional disconnect", may end soon when the children are handed over to their uncle following the finalisation of an agreement between India and the Scandinavian country today.
