The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamat has urged the common man to launch ‘jehad’ against female foeticide, drug abuse, corruption, unemployment and other social evils that have been proving a curse for the humanity instead of training youth to operate weapons.

“Majority to the Muslims even do not know the real meaning of the jehad,” claimed Zahir Ahmed Khadim, secretary, Missionary Work of the jamat.

Khamid was briefing mediapersons in the city about the three-day annual function of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamat to be held from December 26 to 28 at Qadian in Gurdaspur district.

He said this 120th jalsa salana of the jamat will be organised with a motto ‘Love for all, hatred for none’. He said people from any religion, caste and creed can participate at the event.

More than 25,000 delegates from nearly 50 countries are expected to participate. He thanked the Indian government for giving visa to 6,500 members of the Ahmadiyya community from Pakistan to participate in the function.

Over 5,700 members of the community have already reached the venue.
