Observing the third anniversary of the Mumbai attack, India today reminded Islamabad that it was still waiting for a decisive action against the perpetrators of the ‘mindless violence’’ unleashed by terrorists from Pakistan.

A Delhi court today ordered registration of an FIR against former IPS officer Kiran Bedi for allegedly cheating and misappropriating funds in collusion with foreign companies and other foundations.

NATO raid kills 28 soldiers in Pak
At least 28 Pakistani soldiers were killed on Saturday when NATO helicopters and combat jets fired on two border posts in the country’s northwest, prompting army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to direct his troops to prepare for “an effective response” even as authorities cut off all supplies for US forces in Afghanistan. An unmanned Atlas 5 rocket blasted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida today, launching a $2.5 billion nuclear-powered NASA rover toward Mars to look for life habitats there.

A major fire broke out in a mall said to be illegally built by the brother of gangster Dawood Ibrahim. According to the Mumbai fire brigade, the blaze broke out at the Sara-Sahara Shopping Centre at around 3.30 am.

Labour says no to Dow sponsorship of Olympics
Leading members of the British Labour Party are supporting Indian athletes who say a company linked to the Bhopal gas disaster should not be accepted as a sponsor of next year’s London Olympics. Dow Chemicals owns Union Carbide which ran the Bhopal chemical plant that leaked poisonous gases in 1984 when an estimated 25,000 persons were killed.
