Tribune News Service

Haridwar, November 11
Just a week after an infant girlchild was found abandoned in Har-Ki-Pauri, today another infant was found in a roadways bus.

The infant, just two weeks young, wrapped in woollen clothes was found abandoned in the bus at the city bus station, the driver of which informed the kotwali police about the incident.

As per the bus driver, at 9:30 am he reached Haridwar and went for breakfast, but on returning, he heard a cry of a child who was lying alone on a back seat of the bus.

Initially, he waited for some time, but realised soon that the child was left deliberately and then he immediately went to the police station. Police officials immediately informed Arti Ghildiyal, chief medical officer of women’s hospital who directed a child doctor and medical employee to take the child in possession.

As per Dr Meeta, the baby is in good condition but round the clock monitoring is being done owing to the winter climate with three nurses taking care of the infant.

Meanwhile, the infant child, who was found abandoned last week at Har-Ki-Pauri, was shifted today to a Dehradun-situated ashram after completion of all administrative formalities.

Raksha Morcha nominates office-bearers
Tribune News Service

Dehradun, November 11
In anticipation of receiving recognition of a political party from the Election Commission of India by the next month, the Raksha Morcha has gone ahead and released its flag and nominated office-bearers of its district units.

With anti-corruption becoming the main plank of the morcha, president of the Raksha Morcha Lt Gen TPS Rawat (retd) today made it clear that by virtue of raising a revolt against the BJP on the issue of corruption, the morcha had already caught the imagination of the people who were sick of the “double speak of the BJP”.

“By evoking Anna Hazare and anti-graft Lokayukta, the BJP and Chief Minister Khanduri cannot hoodwink the people. There has not been any action by the Chief Minister against his own ministers and party colleagues who have been involved in one scandal or the other,” charged Rawat.

Not only is morcha expected to cut into the sizeable ex-servicemen vote bank of the BJP, but Rawat is likely to contest from the Landsdowne (Pauri) constituency in the coming Assembly elections. More so, the Behrav Garhi Kirtikhal area of Pauri technically falls in the Yamkeshwar constituency and could even affect the Chaubatikhal area as well.

“It was TPS Rawat, who raised the issue of corruption and even left the BJP because the issue was not being addressed, his stand is being appreciated by the people and he won their support,” said SS Pangtey, former bureaucrat who is now a member of the morcha.

Though the BJP and the Congress are busy working on the various permutation and combinations before they declare the candidatures of their candidates, the demarcation and reconstitution of Assembly segments will force the bigwigs from both parties to look for new constituencies.
