The Delhi High Court today acquitted former senior IPS officer Ravi Kant Sharma and two others in the 1999 murder of journalist Shivani Bhatnagar for lack of evidence, observing that the Delhi Police had failed to prove his involvement “beyond reasonable doubt”.

J-K interlocutors moot ‘meaningful autonomy’

Advocating “meaningful autonomy” and speedy development, the three interlocutors on Jammu and Kashmir submitted their report to Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday, a year after they were appointed to draw a roadmap to peace, sources said.

Prashant Bhushan assaulted by youths in his SC chamber

Lawyer and activist Prashant Bhushan was today roughed up by three youths suspected to belong to a right-wing group. Bhushan, a Team Anna member, was attacked in his Supreme Court chamber. He said it appeared that the youths targeted him for advocacy of plebiscite in Jammu & Kashmir.
