NDA protest rocks Parliament
BJP says injustice meted out to its 2 ex-MPs held in cash-for-vote scam
New Delhi, September 8
The NDA today staged a protest in Parliament complex demanding Prime Minister's resignation over the cash-for-vote scam after BJP leader LK Advani was not allowed to speak in Lok Sabha on the alleged "injustice" meted out to two former party MPs arrested in the case. Senior BJP leaders, including Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, along with those of NDA partners gathered around the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Parliament complex and raised slogans against the government on the cash-for-vote scam.

Govt bans onion export

To prevent a repeat of last year’s onion crisis, the government today banned export of the bulb with immediate effect. It, however, lifted the four-year ban on wheat export and allowed the export of grain, including non-basmati rice, following record production and storage constraints.
