Undertaking its first major expansion since 1978, the Indo-Tibetan
Border Police Force (ITBP) is setting up 35 new border outposts to plug
the existing gaps in defences along the Himalayan frontier.

Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) scheduled to be held nationwide on
April 29, 2012, which will go online. Though
the online mode was an option this year as well, but a majority of
students opted for the conventional pen and paper mode.

Somali pirates hijacked a tanker managed by an Indian firm and with 21
Indian sailors on board today from an Omani port, said the Directorate
General of Shipping (DGS) and a Gulf shipping source said. This is the
second such incident in the Gulf Arab state's waters since January.

services, the next generation of mobile telephony, may hit the country
next year. While some telecom
operators in the country have already been carrying out trials for the
launch of the next generation of mobile services, the process got an
additional impetus yesterday with the telecom sector regulator, the
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), releasing a consultation
paper to usher in the next era of high-speed wireless services.
