Ticketing machines on CTU buses soon
Chandigarh, July 30
Commuters travelling by Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) buses have a reason to cheer, as the transport department will soon start ticketing through automated machines.
The machines will also have the facility to scan bus passes bearing radio frequency identification
(RFI) numbers to know their validity. If required, a passenger can even get their passes recharged by paying the amount to the bus conductor.
Online system yet to be introduced in fire stations

P’kula police proposes traffic lights, overbridges on highways

In an attempt to minimise accidents on three national highways falling in the jurisdiction of Panchkula district, the police department here has submitted a letter to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and to the National Highways (NH) division of the Haryana government to install traffic lights on eight points and to construct foot over bridges on five points. These highways include NH 22, NH 73 and NH 21-A.

Haryana introduces videography of police recruitment test

Setting aside the order of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has directed Honda Siel Cars India Ltd to replace a defective car with a new one or refund its cost of Rs 5.91 lakh with 9 per cent per annum as interest since the date of purchase.
Insurance firm fined

The District Consumers Forum has slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Company for causing mental agony to a Sector-15 resident. The company was also told to pay the cost of litigation to the complainant.
