CBI counting crores after nabbing Punjab DSP with Rs 1 lakh bribe

A money-counting machine being taken to the house of Punjab Police DSP Raka Gira (inset) in Chandigarh on Sunday. Rs 1 crore cash and jewellery were seized from there. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested Punjab Police DSP Raka Gira while she was accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh at her Sector 15 residence here.

India presses Pak for voice samples of accused

India has pressed Pakistan for the voice samples of the seven accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and sought speedy trial of the case in that country to bring to justice the perpetrators of the strikes.

The Druk White Lotus School, which was catapulted to fame after it was featured in Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and was destroyed in last year’s deadly cloudburst, is flood-resistant now. ‘Rancho’s school’, which had won many awards like ‘best green school, best earthquake resistant building, best education school, had, ironically, not put in place adequate flood safety measures and had to pay the price.
