Inking a saint poet
To see the release of a book on classical music by Srijan Institute of Creativity at Mount Carmel auditorium was a refreshing experience. The occasion was release of the book Pushtimargiya Sangeet Parampara mein Kumbhandas ka Yogdaan authored by a versatile and vivacious poet, musicologist and performer Nisha Pandya. The book is a tribute to the saint poet and musician Kumbhandas for his incredible contribution in the field of classical and devotional music from the 15th Century. Pandya says the pristine Indian musical compositions are replete with the spiritual leanings and weaved around the legends of deities and saints.
