Sriharikota, July 15
Scripting yet another success in its space programme, India today launched its latest communication satellite GSAT-12 onboard the indigenous PSLV-C17 rocket in a flawless mission from the spaceport here. PSLV-C17, using the most powerful configuration of ISRO’s workhorse launch vehicle, blasted off at 4.48 pm from the the Satish Dhawan Space Centre and zoomed into overcast skies before hurling GSAT-12 into space about 20 minutes later.

Black money: Govt files review petition in SC

The government today filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking recall of the court’s July 4 order for setting up a 13-member Special Investigation Team to probe all aspects of the black money issue as part of efforts to bring back massive amounts illegally stashed in secret bank accounts overseas.

The Industry Ministry has proposed to allow foreign direct investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail trading or in simple terms large-format retail stores like Walmart in a calibrated manner with FDI to the extent of 51 per cent and these could be limited to larger cities with a population of more than 10 lakh.
