Terror strikes mumbai again
21 dead, 141 injured as three blasts rip through the city causing fear and fresh concerns about security
Mumbai, July 13
Terror struck Mumbai when three back-to-back blasts ripped through crowded areas on Wednesday evening, killing at least 21 persons and injuring 141 in a grim reminder of the deadly 2008 Mumbai attacks.

The second blast was reported from Opera House in south central Mumbai. The explosive device was believed to have been kept inside a tiffin box. The third explosion was reported in the Dadar area. The site of the explosion was close to the Dadar railway station. The bomb was planted in an electric meter box.

Mumbai hospitals struggle to cope with blast victims
Mumbai, July 13
Chaos reigned at various hospitals here with injured persons being rushed for treatment after serial bomb blasts rocked the metropolis this evening. Most of those wounded were taken to JJ, St George, GT, KEM and Harkishandas hospitals as the medical staff scrambled to tackle the sudden medical emergency.

Large number of single-teacher schools cause for concern
New Delhi, July 13
India is witnessing massive contractualisation of school education, raising serious concerns about the quality of instruction that will be imparted to children who enter the system as a result of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2010. The number of single-teacher schools across the country also remains unacceptably high, making up nearly 10 pc of all elementary level schools that currently exist.
