CBI files chargesheet against Raja, 8 others 
New Delhi, April 2 
A CBI official with the chargesheet in the 2G Spectrum scam in New Delhi The CBI today filed the first chargesheet against former Telecom Minister A Raja and eight others, including Unitech, Swan Telecom and Reliance Communications, for causing a loss of Rs 30,984 crore to the government in the 2G scam involving corruption, cheating, criminal conspiracy and forgery.

Goa minister caught taking $10m out of country
Mumbai, April 2
Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate, the controversial minister for education in the government of Goa was today caught by Mumbai customs and immigration officials while attempting to take out $10 million on a flight to Dubai, according to sources here. In addition to foreign currency, a sum of more than Rs 1 lakh was also recovered from his possession, sources said.

13 rebels killed in coalition air strikes
Defiant Gaddafi rejects conditional

Tripoli, April 2
A coalition air strike killed at least 13 rebels near the key oil town of Brega today as fierce fighting raged between Muammar Gaddafi’s troops and pro-democracy forces with the defiant Libyan leader rejecting their conditional ceasefire offer. NATO said it was ascertaining reports that a coalition warplane hit a rebel position on the outskirts of Brega in the midst of heavy fighting with Gaddafi’s forces.

State population up by over 13 pc: Census 2011
Chandigarh, April 2
The detailed census for Punjab conducted during 2011 will be released officially sometimes next week. Some trends are, however, available and the provisional population data released for the 2011 census suggests a 13.73 per cent growth in population figures over the last decade. This has raised the density of population in Punjab to 550 persons per square kilometre that makes it the 13th most congested state in the country. Sources in the Department of Census said that the data for the state was being tabulated and was expected to be complete sometimes in this coming week.
