Hoshiarpur, March 27
A man beheaded his wife for having illicit relations with another man.

According to SP (Detective) Randhir Singh Uppal, the decapitated body of Rita (25), wife of Mithan of the local Sunder Nagar, was found in the adjoining fields of the mohalla last night. The police arrested Mithan under Section 302 of the IPC.

Rita was married to Mithan about two years ago and had no children. She went to her parents house at Chamba in Himachal Pradesh a few days ago. She returned here on Thursday. During her absence, Mithan came to know about the illicit relations of Rita with a young boy. On her arrival, Mithan inquired about her relations with the boy and she accepted having an affair with him.

Mithan insisted Rita to arrange his meeting with her paramour, for which Rita agreed. After fixing the time with her paramour, Rita took her husband to the adjoining fields of the mohalla, where Mithan beheaded her. On seeing the incident Rita’s lover, who was already there, fled.

In another incident, Charan Singh (72) of Dagana Kalan died due to manhandling by his brother Balwant Singh and nephew Jagdish Singh at his residence this afternoon.

Randhir Singh Uppal said there was a dispute between Charan Singh and his brother Balwant Singh. While exchanging hot words, Balwant Singh and his son manhandled Charan Singh, due to which he died.

The Bulhowal police has booked the duo under Section 304 of the IPC.
