PM sets up panel to probe CWG ‘corruption’
Former CAG Shunglu to head high-level committee; PMO to get report in 3 months

With the Commonwealth Games over and demands for probe mounting, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tonight appointed a high-level committee headed by a former Comptroller and Auditor General to go into allegations of corruption related to the mega sporting event.

Petrol price up

BPCL hiked petrol price by 70 paise a litre effective from tonight, while other PSU oil retailers are likely to follow suit in the next couple of days. “The petrol price in Delhi was raised by 70 paise to Rs 52.55 per litre,” a company official said. — PTI
