Dowry: 3 booked: A housewife was tortured, maltreated and beaten up for more dowry by the members of her in-laws’ family at Ajnoha village. The Model Town police has booked Jasvir Singh, his mother Narinder Kaur and sister Kuljit
Kaur, all of Ajnoha village, under sections 498 A, 344, 324 and 506 of the
IPC. According to police sources, Baljit Kaur, wife of Jasvir Singh, alleged that her husband, mother-in-law and sister-in-law used to torture, maltreat and beat her up to bring more dowry. They also threatened to kill her. They tried to send her to Canada on fake documents.

5 suspected dengue cases: Five suspected dengue cases were reported in the New Avatar Nagar locality in Jalandhar on Saturday. Two persons were admitted to DMC Ludhiana and the rest were in private hospitals in Jalandhar. DHO R.L. Bassan said
