2 held with hashish: Sleuths of the Narcotics Control Bureau today arrested two persons, including a foreigner, for possessing 525 gms of hashish and
methacolon. The accused, identified as William Janki, a Nigerian national, and Kehav Ram, who hails from Himachal
Pradesh, were nabbed from Sector 17. The police said the drugs were being smuggled to Himachal
Pradesh.
Course: The closing session of English speaking course was held on Saturday at Government Senior Secondary School, Raipur Khurd, here. A total of 35 girl students from the school attended the course. Principal RK Sharma stressed upon the need for such
programmes.MA sociology introduced: The Postgraduate Government College for Girls celebrated the launch of MA (sociology) course recently. The department of sociology has become the ninth postgraduate department of the college after dance, music (instrumental), music (vocal), economics, public administration, botany, zoology and chemistry. Principal Achla Dogra inaugurated the department and blessed the students. Vanamahotsava: Sri Aurobindo School celebrated Vanamahotsava here on Thursday. Environment club of the school organised various activities, like planting saplings. A skit was also staged to spread the message of greener planet.

Honoured: Appreciating the patience and will power shown by Madhu Prakash, complainant in Ruchika’s molestation case, the Panchkula Ladies Club (PLC) today honoured her for fighting the case for 19 years. Sharda Kathpalia, president PLC, said Madhu being a fearless lady acted strong to protect the honour of ladies. Addressing the club members Madhu motivated the members to come forward to fight injustice.

Man electrocuted:
Dalbara, a resident of Manakya village near Ramgarh, was electrocuted when he accidentally touched the electricity wires passing over his house this morning. He was immediately rushed to the General Hospital, Sector 6, where doctors declared him brought dead. His body was handed over to the family members after autopsy.
