50 units of blood donated: Fifty volunteers came forward to donate blood at a blood donation camp organised by the District Youth Congress (DYC) in Green Lane, Haibowal locality, here today. The camp was held under the supervision of DYC president Dimple Rana and inaugurated by Congress MP and national spokesperson of the All-India Congress Committee Manish Tewari.

Exhibition: Pinnacle Institute of Fashion Technology (PIFT) organised its annual fashion exhibition “Paridhan Shilpa” on Sunday. Students displayed their designs at the exhibition. The event was organised to mark the 10th anniversary of PIFT in the city. Management and staff of PIFT expressed their desire to provide a platform to the underprivileged students. The management said some students would be enrolled for special training.

Installation ceremony: The Toastmasters Club, both of Chandigarh and Panchkula, celebrated its team installation ceremony organised at Hotel Parkview here on Sunday. Area Governor Sumant Kumar installed the new executive committee. Sanjay Shail was sworn in as new president for the next six months. Vikas Jindal, Sunakshi Gandotra and Navnit Joshi were installed as vice-presidents for education, membership and public relations, respectively. Sunil Awasthi, Pramod and Gurinder Pal Singh were assigned tasks of secretary and sergeant-at-arms.

Office-bearers elected: The following have been elected office-bearers of the Yadav Samaj Kalyan Sabha on Sunday. President: Ram Avtar Yadav; general secretary: RP Yadav; treasurer: SN Yadav; senior vice-president; Rajinder Yadav and vice-president: Parmod Yadav.
