Congress’ Warning To Govt Officials
Stop committing atrocities on govt’s behalf
Our Correspondent

Hoshiarpur, December 6
The Congress leadership in Hoshiarpur has warned government officials to stop doing atrocities on party men on behalf of SAD-BJP leaders, failing which they would be severely dealt with under section 311 of Constitution once the Congress comes to power.

In a press conference here yesterday, Hoshiarpur MP Santosh Chaudhary, MLAs Love Kumar Goldy, Sangat Singh Gilzian, former minister Ramesh Chander Dogra, former of the Chairman Improvement Trust Pawan Kumar Adia, former MLA Ram Lubhaya, former Chairman Market Committee Sunder Sham Arora and other local Congress leaders said lists of said officers had already been prepared for this purpose. They said 100 to 150 cases of atrocities on the Congressmen had been noticed in each state assembly segment of Hoshiarpur district.

On NREGS implementation, they alleged that the district administration was making false claims regarding it. Instead of providing funds directly to the panchayats, which are executing agencies for the implementation of NREGS, these were being given to them through their Block Development and Panchayat Officers.

They said funds to panchayats should be given proportionately according to the existing number of job cards but these were being allotted on the recommendations of the leaders of the ruling party irrespective of their requirement.

While refuting all allegations, Deputy Commissioner Megh Raj said question of ignoring the Congress leaders did not arise. On NREGS, he said it was being implemented transparently under strict vigil. However, if any discrepancy was found in its implementation, he would probe it.
