Two arrested: The police arrested two youths on Monday night allegedly waiting to indulge in loot on the road connecting Sector 62 and Adarsh Nagar in the Ballabgarh area, near here. The police also seized a loaded country-made gun from them. According to the intelligence input, two youths were waiting to launch an operation of loot. The CIA staff laid and net and nabbed them.

Development works reviewed: Newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Amnit P Kumar accompanied by local officials on Tuesday inspected the on going development works in this town. She directed the concerned officers to complete the works relating to beautification of the town and other works by the end of February. She also inspected the renovation of Bidhkayar Tirath and construction of concrete roads, children’s Park and other under construction works. Under the beautification drive she directed the executive officer local municipal council to take steps to install high mask lights on all busy road crossings and ensure proper sanitation so that people could have a better living.
Car taken away at gunpoint: Some unidentified persons took away a car at gunpoint near Peoda village on Monday. The police has registered a case against unknown culprits and started investigation. The car owner lodged a complaint that three persons hired his car from Nissing to Balu village. However, when they reached near Peoda the miscreants put pistol to his head and asked him to get down from the car. Following this, they fled from the spot. After his complaint the police alerted nakas to nab the culprits.

One killed: Asab Khan (22), a resident of Mewat district, was killed when the truck he was driving reportedly rammed into another truck, whose driver had reportedly applied brakes abruptly, on the Jaipur-Delhi highway near Kathuwas village on Monday. The police has registered a case against the errant truck driver in this regard.
Car looted: Four armed miscreants, who were in a Scorpio car, forcibly intercepted an Innova car on the Jaipur-Delhi highway near Kathuwas village, 12 km from here, on Monday. The miscreants reportedly looted the Innova with Rs 7,900 from its occupants - Raju and Mukesh, both residents of Ajmer district. On a complaint filed by Raju, the police has registered a case of robbery in this regard.
Dental camp: As many as 155 persons were examined and treated for dental ailments by Dr Vanit Yadav and Dr Divya Yadav at a camp held under the auspices of Balaji Charitable Trust at Yadav Dental Clinic at Kosli on Monday. The patients were given medicines free of cost.

Eye donation: With Vidyawanti Miglani becoming the 172nd eye donor of Gohana on Monday, three persons have donated their eyes at Gohana within last six days. Vidyawanti also became the fifth eye donor from the rural areas of Gohana. Vidyawanti, a resident of Barota village, expired in PGIMS on December 29 after a cardiac arrest. Besides Vidyawanti, Hoshiar Singh of Bhainswal Kalan village, Ann Kaur of Butana, Ramesh Khurana of Naggar village and Deep Chand saini of Garhi Ujale Khan were the eye donors from the rural areas.

No doctor appointed: The Himachal Pradesh Unemployed Ayurvedic Doctors Association has flayed the reported statement of Congress spokesperson of the Mandi parliamentary constituency Chander Kumar in which he had stated that Health Minister Rajiv Bindal had appointed a number of ayurvedic doctors in the primary and community health centres in the state to facilitate promotion of the herbal products and ayurvedic drugs being produced in his private company at Solan. President of the association Sanjiv Guleria in a statement issued here on Tuesday said neither the present state government during it one-year rule nor the previous Virbhadra Singh government during its five-year-rule had appointed even a single ayurvedic doctor in the state.
Meeting convened: The local police on Tuesday convened a meeting with representatives of the Nurpur beopar mandal, which was presided over by the DSP. In order to curb the menace of thefts in the town the beopar mandal was advised either to engage a watchman or assist the police to conduct night patrolling in the markets.

Labourer killed in blast: A labourer was killed and a minor girl was injured when some explosive material went off in a house at Khrew in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, official sources said on Tuesday. Explosive material, being used for quarry, exploded in a house at Bajnaid, Khrew, on Tuesday, killing a labourer Mohammad Sheru and injuring a two-year-old girl Gulshana. She was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.
1 dies in mishap: One person was killed in a road accident in south Kashmir, official sources said on Tuesday. A vehicle hit and critically wounded Firdous Ahmad Rather at Dooru in Anantnag district. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Body found: Panic gripped Awantipora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama when a body was found in a nullah on Tuesday morning. Sources said the police was immediately informed and the body was fished out from the Kawani nallah. The body was taken away by the police for identification.
