The CBI court ordered to frame charges against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a sexual exploitation case of dera sadhvis here today.
The inquiry officer of the case, DSP, CBI, Satish Dagar, has confirmed it.
The court will pronounce the detail order in the presence of the dera chief on August 23. The arguments were already completed during the last hearing of the case. The CBI had named the dera chief as the accused in the
chargesheet.
Special Judge of the CBI court A.K. Verma has ordered the dera chief to appear before the court on August 23. The dera chief is the lone accused in the sexual exploitation case.
During the arguments, the CBI had produced the statements of several sadhvis of the Dera Sacha Sauda in the court, who had alleged that the dera chief had sexually exploited them.
Meanwhile, the defence counsel had alleged that the CBI had falsely implicated the dera chief in the case.
The dera chief did not appear in the court today. The counsel of the dera chief informed the court that his client would not be able to attend the court, as he was sick.
The dera chief had not appeared in the court during the last hearing too following his illness.
The bail application of Inder Sain, one of the accused in the Ranjeet Singh murder case, was also argued in the court. The court has fixed August 5 for the order on this application.
The argument on framing charges in Ranjeet murder case would begin on August 23. Besides the dera chief, three others have been named as accused in the case.
The Ambala police had made tight security arrangement on the premises of Police Lines, where the CBI court was shifted temporarily for today for security reasons. The administration did not allow mediapersons to witness the hearing of the case in the court.
