The Vigilance Bureau officers, who questioned former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh here today were not satisfied with his replies to the questions put to him. The bureau has given eight weeks to Amarinder Singh to come prepared with replies to questions which he failed to answer properly today.

With the Samajwadi Party (SP) endorsing the Indo-US nuclear deal, a confident Prime Minister leaves here tomorrow for the G-8 Summit in Japan amid indications from government sources that India could ‘soon’ approach the IAEA for the safeguards agreement.

No govt response yet to Left deadline

Even as the deadline given by the Left parties on the nuclear issue is nearing, the government was yet to give a response till tonight to the Left plea to inform before tomorrow on what it planned to do on the Indo-US nuclear deal.

High drama was witnessed today when a delegation of senior Congress leaders, including former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, was detained after being stopped at the Indore airport itself from visiting riot affected areas in the city.

18 killed in suicide attack near Lal Masjid
At least 18 persons were killed and 40 injured in a suicide attack near Melody Crossing, around 300 metres from the Lal Masjid, in the capital on Sunday.
