Rains continue to lash North India

Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Haryana, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region. The chief amount of rainfall in cm are:
Haryana: Acteli and Bawal 9 each, Safido and Narnaul 7 each, Mohindergarh 6, Loharu and Kanina 5 each,
Gharuna, Nagalchoudhury, Rewan and Ferozepurzirka 4 each, Nagina, Kharkhoda, Kalka, Kosli, Nuh, Siwani and Jatusana 3 each, Gurgaon, Kalayat and Hatin 2 each and Ayanagar, Dadri, Delhi Ridge, Hissar, New Delhi (SFD), Rohtak, and Gohana 1 each, Himahal Pradesh: Mehre and Jogindernagar 4 each, Kasol and Solang Nala 3 each, Dhundi 2 and Bhoranj, Bhanjar, Gohar, Nalagarh and Una 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Bhaderwah 1, Punjab: Ropar 1, East Rajasthan: (5 cm and above) Jaisamand and Malakheda 17 each, Basedi, Byana and Silisad 15 each, Anta, Mahwa and Neemkathana 14 each, Beri and Roopwas 12 each, Alwar, Dholpur and Nadbai 11 each, Bair 10, Bansoor 9, Sapu and Ramgarh 8 each,
Baswa, Bahadurpur, Kotkasim, Kishangarh and Mandrayal 7 each, Behrod, Kumher, Shahpura, Sarmathura and Sikrai 6 each and Viratnagar and Deeg 5 each, West Rajasthan: Vijaynagar 1, East Uttar Pradesh: Allahabad, Kanpur and Lalitpur 5 each, Akbarpur 3, Banda, Fursatganj and Dalmau 2 each and Ankinghat, Katerniaghat, Hardoi and Mirzapur 1 each Joshimath and Rudraprayag 1 each. The maximum temperatures rose markedly in Uttarakhand, rose appreciably in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, rose in Himachal Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. They were largely below normal in
Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in east Rajasthan and appreciably below normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 38.0C recorded at Bikaner (Rajasthan). Forecast valid until the morning of June 19, 2008: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and at a few places in the rest of the region. Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during next 48 hours. Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
